| Students in grades Pre-School through 5 have Spanish class once per week. Through songs, poems, stories, games and a variety of activities, they build a solid foundation as they prepare for a more rigorous program in grades 6 through 8. Topics covered in grades Pre-school through 5 include greetings, colors, numbers, the family, clothing, parts of the body, transportation, animals, places and prayers. | Students in grades 6 through 8 begin a more in-depth study of Spanish, as they cover the curriculum for a traditional High School Spanish I program. Students continue to build their vocabulary as they learn more about grammar including noun gender and adjective agreement. They also learn to conjugate verbs in the present and past tenses. Spanish class meets twice per week in grades 6 through 8. | |||||||||||
