Faculty and Staff of The Middle School

Mrs. Linda Short
Principal   principal@icschool.net

I have been at Immaculate Conception School since 1986. I graduated from Salem State College with a Bachelor of Science degree. I was named Principal in August 2014. I am an active member of the Immaculate Conception Parish and serve as a Eucharistic minister.

My three children are graduates of Immaculate Conception, and presently, I have two grandsons who attend the school. My children also continued with Catholic education in high school and college. The education they received here gave them an excellent foundation.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching my four oldest grandsons participate in a variety of sporting events. It won’t be long before my fifth grandson joins in the activities.

Mrs. Denise Shipp
Grade 6 Homeroom
Middle School Math Teacher (Gr 5-8)   dshipp@icschool.net

After an 18 year career as a Software Engineer, I began substitute teaching in all grade levels and subject areas. It didn’t take me long to realize that Mathematics was my favorite subject to teach. I’ve always loved Math and it’s everywhere, no matter what career you choose. I have a B.A. in Mathematics from Assumption College, and a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from WPI. I often tell my students that teaching is my “second career”, but I truly believe I have finally found what I was meant to do!

On a personal note, I enjoy reading, watching reality TV, visiting Disney World, and spending time with family and friends.

Miss Lauren Bailey

Science Grades 5 to 8   lbailey@icschool.net

I am excited be teaching at the ICMS for my second year! I am the Science Teacher for Grades 5 through 8. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Health, focusing on water.

In my spare time, I enjoy being outside, rooting for Boston sports teams, attending concerts and plays, and playing board games.

Ms. Kathleen OhEigeartaigh
Language Arts / Literature – Grades 6-8 koheigeartaigh@icschool.net

I graduated from Anna Maria College with an AB in English and a minor in Anthropology. I literally answered “the call to teaching” when the former headmaster of my high school phoned me at home one evening to suggest that I apply for a long term subbing job at Holy Name HS in Worcester. I remained there as a teacher for nearly 20 years. I did return to school, earned my teaching credentials, and eventually a M.Ed. from Lesley University. I have been teaching or working as an administrator for much of the past 30 years. I am delighted to be teaching at IC!

I have been a member of the adult choir at Immaculate Conception Parish for several years. I also enjoy playing tennis, cross-country skiing, and sewing.

Mrs. Cheryl Ryan
Middle School – Grade 7 Homeroom
Social Studies – Grades 5 to 8  cryan@icschool.net

I have been teaching at Immaculate Conception School for more than 25 years and have had a Grade 7 homeroom for most of that time. A product of Catholic school education, I am a proud graduate of Immaculate Conception and Hudson Catholic High, as well as a life-long parishioner. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in Secondary Education from Framingham State University. I continue my education by taking graduate level courses in History, Social Studies, and Education. I hold two Massachusetts State certifications in History 5-9, and History 9-12.

I love teaching Middle School age students because they are both inquisitive and enthusiastic learners. I believe that learning Social Studies enables students to become informed, effective global citizens of the twenty-first century.

I received my B.A. in Spanish and education from U. Mass Lowell (formerly U.of Lowell) and my M.A. in Spanish from Boston College.

I have five grown children and I reside in Westborough with my husband Owen.
